Terms of use

Version 2026-09-04 · Pro On The Way Lite

Plain language, because terms nobody reads protect nobody. By creating an account you agree to what is below.

1. What this is

Pro On The Way Lite is a record-keeping tool. You enter what maintenance has been done on your home or vehicle, and it keeps track of it and reminds you when something may be due. That is the whole service.

It is not an inspection, an appraisal, a warranty, or professional advice. It has never seen your property. Every figure it shows is a general estimate, and the decisions are entirely yours.

2. Lifespans, schedules and cost estimates

The app shows typical service intervals and expected lifespans for common items. These come from published general references — principally InterNACHI's Standard Estimated Life Expectancy Chart for Homes, and common manufacturer service intervals for vehicles. They are population averages, given as ranges.

They say nothing about your particular roof, furnace, water heater or vehicle. Real service life depends on the specific product, how it was installed, how it has been used, the climate, and plain luck. Something described here as having ten years left can fail tomorrow. Something shown as long past its typical life can carry on for another decade.

Cost figures shown as "upcoming" or "estimated" are arithmetic on what you previously entered. They are not quotes, and nobody is offering to do work at that price.

You accept all responsibility for decisions you make. Deciding when to inspect, service, repair or replace anything — and deciding whether it is safe — is yours alone. Do not use this app in place of a qualified inspection, a licensed tradesperson, your manufacturer's manual, or your own judgement. If something might be unsafe, get a professional to look at it.

3. Reminders are not guaranteed

Reminders appear in the app when you open it. They may not arrive, may arrive late, or may not arrive at all — because of a bug, an outage, a device setting, a mail problem, or because the schedule was based on information that was wrong or missing. Do not rely on this app as the only thing standing between you and a missed service, particularly for anything with a safety or legal consequence, such as inspections, registrations, smoke detectors, chimneys or gas appliances.

4. Your data

What you enter is yours. We do not sell it, share it with anyone, or use it to train any model. What is stored and who can see it is set out in the privacy policy.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. That permanently destroys your records, photos and contacts. It cannot be undone and there is no backup we will restore from afterwards — so export or write down anything you want to keep first.

When an account is deleted we keep a one-way cryptographic hash of the email address and nothing else. It cannot be read back or used to contact you. It exists only so that the same address signing up again is recognised as a returning account rather than a brand new one.

5. Sharing

If you invite someone to see one of your homes or vehicles, they will be able to see its history, photos, costs and contacts, and add records to it. They cannot delete it. Only invite people you intend to give that access to. You can withdraw it at any time.

6. Your account

Keep your password to yourself, give a real email address so you can recover the account, and do not use the service for anything unlawful, to store other people's personal information without their knowledge, or to attack or overload the service. Accounts doing those things may be suspended without notice.

7. Price

The service is currently free. If paid plans are introduced later, anything you have already entered will remain accessible to you and you will not be charged without agreeing to it first.

8. Availability

This is a small service run by a small operation. It may be unavailable for maintenance, may lose data in a disaster despite backups, and may change or stop. It is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, Pro On The Way and anyone working with it are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, cost or expense — direct or indirect — arising from your use of this service. That expressly includes property damage, repair or replacement costs, loss of use, and any consequence of maintenance being done late, done early, or not done at all.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid for the service in the previous twelve months, or ten US dollars.

Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, where the law does not permit that exclusion. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limitations, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.

10. Changes

If these terms change materially, the version at the top of this page changes and you will be asked to accept the new version in the app. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
